Generative Aquarium and Atrium Space for The Chaloub Group
I used C# and Unity to create a 3D aquariam and large-scale atrium space filled with behaviour-driven creatures.
The Chaloub Group were opening a new luxury shopping centre aimed at children. They needed a colourful and characterful display to greet people at the entrance, as well as something to tie the sea, land and air themes of the three floors together. I worked with a designer who created characters with an origami influence. My role was to add behaviours and sequencing to these creatures. I implemented a version of the boids algorithm to simulate fish shoals and devised a predator / prey relationship between the sharks and the smaller fish. In the atrium space I used the Unity physics library to make frogs hop over lily pads and herons spiral through the skies.
